It’s back. That special Battle-of-the-Bands that not only dishes out the best prizes to bands who show their color, but also distribute prophylactics and heated lubricant en masse and free of charge. I’m talking (of course) about The Durex Ultimate Band Battle. Kudos to them.
DeathLikeDaisies (or rather, soon-to-be April Couldn’t Fly) are back full-fire after their win (the quarter-finals?) in October last year. After changing their name and their sound (to a certain extent), DLD will be tearing-up and spitting-out the stage this Saturday 20th February at Mercury Live in Cape Town.
The prizes this time are a shit-load cooler than when I took part in the Battle. To refresh:
• R10 000 in cash.
• Luggage trailer
• Live recording
• 100 CD’s and t-shirts
• Professional biography
• Branded Drum Vellum
• 3 x 2m stage banner
• Durex condoms for a year.
• Professional photo shoot.
• Professional website design and hosting for a year.
• Headline slot on Lucky Fish 2010.
• National tour in 2010.
• Professional tech rider.
So if you’re in the area on Saturday, or you feel like making a trip through to the Mother City to witness live music at its finest, make a turn at Mercury Live and support DeathLikeDaisies. And print and use this flyer at the door for R10 off the entrance charge; it also counts as a vote for DLD, so everybody wins.
